PIING for iPhone and iPad
Private by default. Fast by design.
One-to-one chats in the PIING app locked end to end, with post-quantum protection on top. No ads, no trackers. And when the signal dies, Nearby keeps your messages moving.
Free. Sign in with Apple on iPhone, Google on Android, or email on a computer. Mac and Windows have a download. Android has no Play Store app yet: it runs in the browser.
Everything you need. Nothing you don't.
One app for chats, calls, Stories and plans, built the way an iPhone app should be.
Post-quantum one-to-one chats
One-to-one chats in the PIING app, including photos, videos and files, are end-to-end encrypted when you're both on a current version, with post-quantum protection. How it works
Encrypted groups
Group chats are end-to-end encrypted when everyone in the group has a current version of PIING. Otherwise they're encrypted on the way.
Calls and live
One-to-one calls, answered from the Lock Screen. Live is still being tested. When it opens, a live to people you know is for 16 and over, and a public or community live is for 18 and over. Live video is not end-to-end encrypted.
Works with no signal
Nearby carries encrypted messages phone to phone over Bluetooth, hopping through up to 5 PIING phones. Festivals, matches, the Tube.
Friends Map
Share your location only with friends you pick, plan a meet-up with a live arrival time, and vanish any time with Ghost Mode.
Locked and hidden
Lock chats with Face ID and an optional secret PIN, hide chats, keep a private Vault, and turn on Strict Privacy in one tap.
On the way
Being built and tested now. We'll switch each one on only when it's ready.
Group calls
Voice and video with your whole group.
Circles
A tighter list than all your contacts, for family and close friends.
Geofilters and PIING Coins
Camera filters for your party, venue or event, at a fair price.
Music
Share songs in chats and Stories, and listen together on a call.
A native Mac app
Today a Mac runs the iPad app or the desktop download. A Mac-first layout, and side-by-side screens for bigger and dual-screen devices, are still to come.
How PIING compares
Five chat apps, one job. Checked 14 October 2026. Their names stay theirs. The sources under the table are how you check every line.

WhatsApp grew by using the phone book, so the account is the number. Signal is a charity, and it published the post-quantum step first. Telegram keeps ordinary chats on its servers so they open on every device. Snapchat is paid for by ads, and the camera comes first. A WhatsApp Business chat is how a shop replies, so the shop can read it. PIING is the private one-to-one chat, without a phone number, plus the Bluetooth hop when the signal dies. It is not their network, and a business chat here is not a locked chat.
